Posted by admin on 22nd December 2009

The secret of happiness is not as elusive as the fountain of youth. more than 200 interviews were done with people ages 60 and over by john Izzo PHD, author of the five secrets you must discover before you die, learned that satisfaction is often found through the simplest experiences.

1. Set a goal, such as making time to connect with old friends, family member, and your parents or learning a new skills. To really make it stick , write it on a card that you look at 20 times a day. The humble act of paying attention to whats truly important will lead you take those small steps toward changes.

2. Chart your future by imagining yourself as 80 years old looking and looking back on your life. What do you want to have achieved? You may discover that really matters to, (making time of your family, excelling at work) is already in your gasp.

3. Shake up your self-talk script. If something goes wrong, instead of berating yourself (I’m so lazy for skipping gym) change your thought (I used that time to run errands. I’ll take a walk tonight). The more you stand up to inner critic with new pro-you thoughts the more you discover how being positive spurs you on accomplish even more.
