Did you know that a pregnant woman in a stage of stress might put her infant at risk for cognitive problem later in life? But mother’s nurture could protect against the risk. A professor of psychiatry and psychology at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York, Thomas o’ Connor said, the first direct human evidence that fetus exposed to elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which possibly gets released in the mother’s body when she stressed out could have trouble paying attention or solving problems when they grow up. But the more intriguing is that this negative link disappear almost entirely if the mother forges a secure connection with her baby. The professor said there is some future studies are needed to confirm the findings.

Last February 13, it was the Chinese new year, according some Chinese expert of astrology the Chinese New year had 12 animals in astrology and have corresponding named after them. This year, is the “Year of the tiger” and the cycles of this will repeat in every 12 years. Firecrackers are common we saw at time of Chinese New Year, associated with stemming from an ancient Chinese legend. These legends tell us the story of foul –smelling giant who lived in the western side of a village. If someone made the giant angry, he would inflict malaria on them. One of the villagers suggested that they might scare the giant, if they created a great deal of noise. So the people of the village made a huge pill of bamboo stem and set them on fire. As the stems burned they explode and frighten the giant badly, he run away and never returned again. So next time you see a fire crackers on Chinese New year, you can assure that no foul smelling giant nearby.

About the news yesterday here in the Philippines, Sen. Panfilo Lacson made a exposure in he’s privilege speech about alleged criminal activities, including smuggling and shakedown of a businessman on our former President Joseph Estrada’s. Sen. Lacson, in his speech, Estrada enriched himself in power from 1998 to 2001. He accused former President Estrada involvement of illegal game jueteng, extortion, intimidation of businessmen, ordering the release of big shipments of smuggled dressed chicken and rice from the Bureau of Customs. Lacson said, his first encounter with Estrada’s greed for power when the latter tried to convince him to go easy on jueteng. Lacson first worked with Estrada an anti-crime task force when he was still vice president. There was time he said, that Estrada In August 1998, that one of the country’s prominent businessmen, Alfonso Yuchengco, was forced to sign his 7.75 percent shares with Philippine Telecommunications Investment Corp. (PTIC), equivalent to 18,720 shares, to Metro Pacific under its president Manuel V. Pangilinan. In his last speech he sited God save the Philippines from Joseph Ejercito Estrada,” and ended of his speech titled “ Ang dalawang mukha ng sining (The two faces of art). My point of view of this issue maybe Lacson had a big evidence to point out about the allegation that he throws to former President Estrada. Hopefully in the end we Filipino’s will know what are the truth are.

Today we are observing the Earth Day here on the Philippines. Mother Earth is definitely begging to be respected, because of the destructions of the environment.

The predicted effects of global warming are many various affect both human life and environment. With the death of rain forest, streams, massive oil erosion, and flood. Today every body is aware of the threats to the environment that confront not only the rich but the poor as well, not only the old but also the young. We must act now to heal our environment and fully understand the present of ecological crisis to save our mother earth. Through educational program and community programs, would help us to develop, love and appreciates GOD creations how to take good care our environment.
Do not remain silent when you see your environment being destroyed. We are people of hope, who believe that together we can change the course of events.

Who is the tallest man in the world? The tallest man in the world is Bao Xishun from China. He just actually regained the title of the world’s tallest man last year since Leonid Stadnik from Ukraine refused to be measured again under new guidelines from Guinness World Records. Leonid Stadnik allegedly stands 8 feet and 5 inches tall. His strange growth started after he had a surgery on a benign tumor on his brain. The doctors believed that it triggered his pituitary gland. However, Bao Xishun is 7 feet, 8.95 inches. Now, I am wondering why Leonid refused to be measured again. Maybe he wanted to avoid too much publicity.
